Having Fun Along The Way

By Kate Corbin

“Life is a journey – not a destination.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

How many times have you heard the advice to enjoy the journey? I don’t know about you, but this guidance was not always so easy for me to follow. Even though enjoying the journey from where I was to where I wanted to be made perfect sense to me; for most of my life, I was way too goal-oriented to do more than merely acknowledge it as a good idea.

Over the years, though, as I’ve released my programmed tendencies to work too hard and push too hard and try to force square pegs into round holes, I’ve gotten better at enjoying the journey.

Then, in a workshop last summer, I heard Abraham say that having fun along the way to your desire is the ONLY reason for the desire. What? Enjoying the journey is more than a good idea? It’s actually the one and only reason for the journey? It stopped me in my tracks!

From my new perspective of enjoying the journey, I can now see how having fun along the way aligns perfectly with these other empowering LOA principles:

FEELING GOOD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. Feeling good = high vibration = vibrational match to your desires = strong connection with Source / Who You Really Are. Feeling good all along the way, then, is definitely an idea whose time has come.

YOU CAN’T GET TO A GOOD-FEELING DESTINATION FROM A BAD-FEELING JOURNEY. According to the Law of Attraction, like attracts like. Therefore, a bad feeling journey is not capable of resulting in a good feeling destination. In other words, enjoying the journey leads to enjoying the manifestation. [Note: Even if you insist you did actually suffer and struggle your way to a happy manifestation, I’m confident that relaxing and enjoying the journey would have made it easier, quicker and more fulfilling.]

IF YOU’RE NOT HAPPY WHERE YOU ARE NOW, YOU WON’T BE HAPPY WHEN YOU GET WHERE YOU WANT TO BE. The “I’ll be happy when . . .” myth has been exposed as bogus and replaced with the realization that right now, this present moment, is all you really have. If you focus on being happy now – not some day, in the sweet bye and bye – you enjoy this now and this now and this now . . .

“Life is not about tomorrow. It’s about right now. Life is about how you are currently molding the Energy.” – Abraham-Hicks

FUN NEW PROCESS. To remind yourself to enjoy the journey every step of the way, try applying this statement throughout the day –“I’m having fun on my way to . . .” No matter what it is. No matter how long you’ve wanted it or how far away it may in this moment seem to be. As you declare, “I’m having fun on my way to . . . ,” you focus and re-focus on the joy of the journey. The joy of life!

It turns out that life is nowhere near as serious as we were led to believe. You can’t get it wrong. You’re a physical extension of Source. All is well – no matter how it might sometimes appear from your limited perspective. Earth is not a school where you came to learn lessons, suffer karmic retribution, and prove your worth. Earth is an amusement park where you came, fully worthy and eternally aligned with Source, to have fun adventures and fascinating new experiences.

The purpose of your desires and goals is to give you pleasure on your path. Your job, therefore, is to feel as good as you can and find as much joy as possible every step along the way. That’s how you enjoy the journey. That’s how you create a happy life – one happy moment at a time!
